Cascina La Galeisa is a lovingly restored farmhouse with fully equipped gourmet kitchen and quality amenities sleeping up to 12 people.
Think michelin star restaurants, barolo and barbaresco, local osteria’s, walking trails and cycling amidst unesco heritage landscape. From the moment you step through the wrought iron gates of the courtyard you can feel Galeisa is a peaceful place to stay. Rescued from ruins, this beautiful farmhouse was all but abandoned until the new owners found and purchased it in 2013. Now it’s rooms echo with fun, food, wine and life once again.
Enter into the gourmet kitchen with large island bench, ascot double oven, huge double door fridge and freezer, dishwasher, and all essential kitchen appliances.
The adjacent dining room is dominated by an antique 12 seat dining table, 18th french sideboard and a stunning open fireplace for cosy winter evenings. The original cantina abutts the dining room; partitioned by an impressive glass panelled wall.
The ground floor also consists of the living room and library both with french door access to the terrace, with views across the moscato vineyards to the historical town of nieve and the barbaresco tower. On a clear day you can see all the way to the italian alps.
Ascending the original stunning staircase the lower mezzanine level bedroom includes double bed, beautiful Victoria + Albert bathtub and a gorgeous shower ensuite.
The upper mezzanine level bedroom contains a king size bed, ensuite shower bathroom and commanding views of the rolling langhe hills and vineyards.
The top floor of the farmhouse comprises four bedrooms, one with two single beds and the remaining rooms with king size beds. All bedrooms have shower ensuites, with one bathroom including a Victoria + Albert claw-foot bathtub. The magnificient exposed oak beam ceilings highlight the spaciousness and character of this fine home.
Tv’s are located in the living room and one of the top floor bedrooms, wi-fi throughout, dvd and stereo, washing machine, dryer, timber floors in all the bedrooms and quality tiles on the ground floor, sumptious couches and antique furniture combine to make this a fantastic place to stay. Galeisa offers peace and privacy with all modern comforts.

Cascina La Galeisa is situated a five minute drive, 30 minute walk for the more adventurous, from the beautiful village of Castiglione Tinella in the midst of Moscato d’Asti vineyards. Castiglione Tinella has shopping available for bread, cheese, deli, bar, as well as the wonderful Osteria Verderame. Alba and Asti are only a short drive away (20mins) which means that all the famous Barolo and Barbaresco vineyards are at your doorstep. Both towns have full amenities including supermarkets, weekly food markets, excellent shopping and medical services. In the province of Cuneo there are 13 Michelin star restaurants such as Piazza Duomo and Guido’s, all within an easy drive from the farmhouse. For longer day trips there are a myriad of options available including shopping and sightseeing in Turin and Milan, or jaunts to the Italian Alps, the Lakes, Genoa and Cinque Terre.
There are many activities to undertake around Cascina La Galeisa. A UNESCO world heritage walking trail goes right past the kitchen door at Galeisa and transverses through the Moscato vines, woodlands and hazelnut groves. The surrounding hilltop towns and villages have fantastic historical monuments, churches and places of significance dating from Roman times. Cycling is a popular past-time and there are many professional tour operators in the area. The Langhe is a world renowned gastronomic region with numerous cooking schools catering to all levels of ability. In Autumn white truffle hunting expeditions can be arranged to search for this elusive tuber which is sought after by chefs around the world. There is an abundance of wildlife living in the surrounds of Cascina La Galeisa including deer, wild boar, badgers, squirrels and hawks.
